1) The Road to the Hulk

1:1 ratio

Perched at over 10,000ft the Incredible Hulk in the Eastern Sierra is home to some of the most impeccable alpine granite that can be found and can arguably be considered the biggest granite wall in the High Sierra. The summit of the Hulk tops out around 11,500ft thus climbing this wall is a serious physical undertaking, and one that is rewarded not only by amazing climbing but also by spectacular views of nearby tarns and peaks.

For those interested in embarking on the journey of climbing the Hulk this program provides you with the building blocks needed to do so. The Road to the Hulk is a three step process which can take place over the period of 7 days with rest days interspersed.

Step 1: Day trip to Pine Creek for cragging. This will be a full 8 hour day involving climbing a mixture of crack climbs and face climbs with the goal of doing a high volume day of routes in order to boost the endurance and increase the capacity of physical exertion.

Step 2: Day trip to the Third Pillar of Dana and the Tioga Pass area. The 3rd Pillar is pitch after pitch of classic Yosemite climbing on stellar granite and is one of the best and most accessible alpine rock climbs of its grade in the entire Sierra. This will give a great introduction to the exposure and commitment required to climb alpine routes.

Step 3: Three Day trip to The Hulk. The route will be either the Red Dihedral, Positive Vibrations, or The Polish Route

Day 1: Meet in Bishop or other predetermined local, go through gear and supplies, pack, walk into the Hulk in the afternoon, establish camp, get water, cook dinner.

Day 2: Cook breakfast, rack up, pack food and water for the day, climb the route – descend, back to camp, cook dinner.

Day 3: Cook breakfast, pack up camp, walk out.

 

2) The Road to Mt.Conness – The Harding Route

1:1 ratio

Located at the eastern border of Yosemite and the Inyo National Forest, Mt.Conness is one of the highest peaks in the area rising to 12,590 ft. Offering a stunning alpine rock climbing experience Mt.Conness is not to be missed.

For those interested in embarking on the journey of climbing Conness this program provides you with the building blocks needed to do so. The Road to Mt.Conness is a three step process which can take place over the period of 7 days with rest days interspersed.

3) Third Pillar

1:1 ratio

The 3rd Pillar is pitch after pitch of classic Yosemite climbing on stellar granite with awesome views of Mono Lake. The 3rd Pillar is one of the best and most accessible alpine rock climbs of its grade in the entire Sierra and is climbed in a day car to car.

4) Custom/Single Day trip to Pine Creek:

2:1 ratio max

This can be tailored to the clients needs and can focus either on crack climbing or face climbing or a mixture of both. Routes such as The Rights of Spring, Sheila,The John Fischer Memorial Route are great single and multi pitch trad routes to experience. There is also an abundance of quality face routes both single and multi pitch. This day can be tailored to the clients individual needs.

6) Custom/ Single Day trip to the Owens Gorge:

2:1 ratio max

This can be tailored to the clients needs and can focus either on volume or climbing harder grades. This day can be tailored to the clients individual needs.

7)The Hulk – Red Dihedral/Positive Vibes/The Polish Route (or custom)

Clients need to have multi pitch climbing experience as well as a good level of fitness. If no prior experience with a multi pitch route or rappelling or breaking down a belay I suggest enrolling in either a few private/custom trips or the Road to the Hulk package.

8)Mt.Conness- The Harding Route

9)Private Series

This is for both adults and youth. Offering a series of private days with a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio.

Guiding for a 6 hour day in Owens River Gorge, Pine Creek, Bear Crag, the Tablelands or the Buttermilks.

The goal of this series is to develop ones climbing repertoire by experiencing different styles of climbing and learning the different skills and techniques required for each type, from crack climbing, face climbing, slab climbing, steep sport climbing, and bouldering. You will also establish a relationship with the rock and the area and gain a better understanding outdoor ethics. Eating for performance and health will also be a focus.
